I found myself here to suggest this, and I'm so glad to see it's going to become a thing. I like to lean objects up onto walls or blocks in order to add a certain aspect to them, but not all objects currently rotate like this. Looking forward to this one!

Would be also very nice, several stairs are then easier to use.

C

could you throw a lock in there so we can fix objects in place?

Being able to rotate in all axis would be awesome!

Not only rotate but mirror objects as well!

Hello, can we add an option to move object in all the three axes (x;y;z) as well give them any orientation?

The ability to tilt light sources, pitchers, cups, ropes, ect would liven up my maps quit a bit.

It would be nice to rotate whole rooms that are not adjecent to another room, like bakery or smithy. The rotation could be in 90 degree steps, so that it stay in the grid of the map

I was wondering if DA could give access to rotation of objects. This would give creators the ability to flip objects upside down and rotate them to their side to further give even more customization.

We can rotate objects on a horizontal axis but I'd like to be able to rotate an object vertically. Place things at a new angle

It would be cool if you could make sure you cna rotate items in any direction then just clock-counter clock wise.

But also turning htem so you can place a scythe up againsthe wall... as its now the scythe would only lie on the ground.. and so will swords. It would be quite cool you could turn them so they could stand up agianst walls! for my blacksmith shop xD

I.e. rotate objects on z-axis. I imagine it working similarly to the z-axis controls, except that instead of raising or lowing an object, it merely tilts the object left or right on its z-axis.

Ideally have individual arrows for translation, roll and scale
tX/tY/tZ | rX/rY/rZ | sX/sY/sZ like many 3D programs like blender and solid works.

No more than the title. We move and rotate object in x and y axe. We can move object in z axe, maybe rotate too?

Could we get a tilt feature to lean some of the free-standing walls against others, tilt rocks, statues, etc?

e.g. to turn a standing stone into a fallen standing stone, laying down on the terrain instead of pointed upward.

Lock object position in space and allow movement and rotation around x, y, and z axes.

A

Given objects are 3D, being able to rotate, tilt, flip them so that they can be upright, laying flat, or positioned any which way.

eg. a coffin that is laid horizontal is able to rotate vertical to be placed up against a wall.

This is the feature I miss a lot when I am working with the maps. I beleive Mac mentioned on one of the streams that you are working on Unreal Engine 5 so this is something that is certainly possible.

I said no such thing... We use Unity. That being said its on the roadmap.

Just discovered the need for this when trying to make an entry way with stairs curving up to a second floor. The only available stairs for the style I want only curve up to the right. Mirroring/flipping would give me exactly what I wanted.

J

Joe Thibedeau

Including x/y/z "mirror" options would be great. trying to put in single railing stairs and can't flip them to the outward side.

K

Karolis Vaitkevicius

I found my need for this when I wanted a cart to be turned on its side in the middle of a road. Instead I have to keep it upright when exporting and tell the players it has fallen on its side.

What I would suggest, is adding a 3D Gizmo (like an engine editor or any 3D software) that allows the user to rotate in any direction but also move the items wherever they want, and also scale them.

I saw that people want to place objects at any height. I think this would solve both problems at the same time.

100% this. The up and down was added (to some items but not all).

What if I’d like to have a towel hanging on a clothing line?
Or a long stone lying down?
Or maybe even a brazier spewing flames from the wall?
A possibility to rotate things in all dimensions would be amazing!
Don’t you think?

A

Alouna Abez

i vote for this. I want to flip the objects in different axis especially flipping horizontally/vertically. Kinda hard if you already stablished a map design for the players that already got used to the it... and then can't copy the exact same placement in the map

Right now when I drop in swords and other items, they need to just lie on the floor or table horizontally which is not very realistic and takes up a lot of space. Can we get the option to lean them vertically against a wall?

At the moment, you can only place tools and weapons on desks or floor. It would be nice to be able to have them leaning up on things (this could be part of the finite object control feature rather then separate items)

Would totally be nice to be able to hang crossbows on the wall!

A

In addition, have a x/y/z & rx/ry/rz graphic (and ideally scale x/y/z) like in Blender to move objects where ever you want with full control, rather than snapping to particular points or not being allowed to place because something else is there.

Being able to flip objects horizontallyand/or vertically would open up so many options for tweaking rooms to be perfect - especially, for example, with corner-staircase objects

Also flipping doors so they can open in all possible ways and flipping stairs so they can logically/visually be placed in any corner or against any wall.
