Have an option to export the map with a hexagonal grid rather than square. This would allow for maps that are representing larger areas than specific buildings / caves.
If the hexagonal shapes were centred on the square grid, it would still line up for token placement within VTTs
Some systems or VTTs use a hex grid. Implementing at least an overlay of hexes would give a good feel of how large objects are showing up, vs a grid.
In addition to being able to set a square grid, adding a hex grid would also be a good option
For running games like Gloomhaven with an interactive map, hex grid support would be fantastic.
I play GURPS and agree with the idea of hexes
