Isometric export is such an important feature in a 3D map maker. I'm curious as to why it's not higher on the upvote list. It provides so much more detail and immersion. I've bought it thinking it had the feature, and even though i'm very happy with DA, i miss 2D Iso export so much :(
I was searching for almost a year to find something usable for generation of isometric maps. As I saw DA to have this soon, I bought it. ...I hope to see this soon.
If multiple floors are implemented before, please let the isometric perspective be more than just a slice through the plain.
As part of an isometric release, it would be great if walls had a 'cut-away' feature like the Ravenloft Castle maps do. This way, the viewer wouldn't lose a large portion of usable map surface.
Such a thing could be exported (nothing fancy, just as a PNG or similar) for use in other VTTs, providing fantastic compatibility and cross sell opportunities. I know both Chronos Builder and The RPG Engine have recently implemented such a feature. What do you think?
Im making an 2d isometric game like Baldur gates and right now i need to use the print screen function to have the right angle but its far from perfect.
This seems like the current feature for a fixed-angle perspective. I think both an isometric angle and/or a fixed angle with the current squares would be helpful on image export. It's difficult to use anything except the top-down for a map in a scrolling context when the wall perspective at the top and bottom of the map are opposite.
This i really important for me. Without a fixed isometric angle for the top down view, big maps aren't usable at all without completely giving up 3d features, which in turn would render some objects unrecognizable.
I want to use a simple square map, not an isometric one, but don't have any distortion and still see walls, doors and fireplaces.
It should look like to top right corner of a current map. So walls should be leaned a bit to the back and the right, with the same angle everywhere. Maybe make it configurable. Two sliders from -90 to 90 degrees. One for north-south and another for west-east.
Maybe a third slider rotating the map, to allow real isometric maps.
For me, the most essential features of isometric exports are, in order of importance: true isometric perspective (i.e. no distance distortion), the ability to manually input the camera angle/pixel ratio, and the option to show/hide blocking walls.
Be able to, at a click, remove walls that obscure line-of-sight and room interiors for a pseudo-isometric style, particularly rooms further from the centre of the map where 3D walls can end up covering room floor tiles and hiding objects.
Oh man, would love to be able to export to iso perspective. I've been dabbling with iso maps in my vtt, and this would be perfect. I can manually get the perspective almost there, but I need it to be perfect to align to the iso grid. Hope this feature makes it!
Ideally this would not have perspective, rather it would be set up so that the diagonal squares can align to a hex grid, so that these maps can be used in a VTT and still snap tokens to the squares.
I saw another suggestion called photobooth that is similar to this idea. I really want this too. Here is the other suggestion in case someone want to merge the posts:

Agree 100%. The maps are visually awesome, but to fully appreciate it, isometric export would be necessary.

Ill be buying this as soon as isometric export is implemented.

Must have. Because 3d export is not planned, this would be the only way to experience all the 3d visuals DA provides.

Support the grape juice foundry vtt isometric plugin exporting background, tiles and wall / window data... that would be incredible.

I backed this kickstarter campaign after they announced they would be adding isometric exports and have yet to see it! Come on!

Just to add the clamour for a 2D isometric render for export and use in VTTs.
What would be fantastic for me (and maybe others) is a 2D isometric render, By which I mean something like this:

Isometric export to foundry with the isometric module which enables walking behind walls possible, would be amazing to have!

isometric view allows us to see so much more details...

I want to be able to export Dungeon Alchemist maps and use them in isometric with something like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=42wDDTd1B8Q

Its simillar but its not the same.
The isometric export will force a 3d perspective without distortion.
Although having both is really nice

I really love isometric maps and fondry does 99% already!
The maps are beautifull but the topdown does not make justice for them.
Rodolfo Mora Zamora
Something like this, with a top-down isometric perspective would be awesome.

Now that most of notable/famous VTTs supports either Isometric or Hex a view like this would be awesome to play with

yeah will be helpfull in foundry vtt with wall height ! :)
